Report From Interim Pastoral Selection Committee
Introducing our new Interim Pastor Rev. Jeffrey Mark Hensley.
The interim pastoral committee has unanimously recommended the Rev. Mark Hensley to the Church Council for consideration to be our interim pastor. This week the Church Council unanimously approved the recommendation. And, so, we have a new interim pastor at First Congregational Christian Church in Mukwonago. The Rev. Mark Hensley. Rev. Mark has graciously accepted the offer.
Many of you will be familiar with Rev. Mark as he was the guest preacher Easter Sunday. Pastor Mark has an extensive background in ministry. Most recently with a non-denominational church in Monticello, WI and prior to that with the Methodist church where he was ordained.
Pastor Mark lives in Waterford and is also a full time State Farm insurance agent with an office in Delavan. As such Pastor Mark will be joining us as a Part Time pastor while he also maintains his business.
Pastor Mark will begin his official duties with FCC on Monday May 6. His first Sunday will be on Mother's Day May 12.
Respectfully submitted
Jamie Pennington
Chair Interim Pastor Search Committee.
Pastoral Search Committee Announcement
Dear FCC,
As you may recall, at our March 10 church business meeting, members were asked to submit names of members they trusted to be on the committee to search for and hire a permanent pastor. The list was compiled by Mike Zvara, moderator-elect, and me, moderator, following that meeting. The members were then contacted in the order of most votes.
Our Pastoral Search Committee consists of Jamie Pennington, Kay Rowntree, Zach Buchmann, Rae-Ellen Pruess, and Jean Brocker. Mike Zvara and myself, as moderator-elect and moderator, are also on this committee during our time of service as ex-officio members. Janine Coley is the alternate should any member need to resign from the committee. If the search should go into 2025, the new moderator-elect will take my place on the committee as my time of service is complete at the end of this year.
We thank you all for your patience as we worked to form this committee. As you know, the task of finding the new permanent pastor can take a good deal of time. Your voice is important during this process. Please reach out to me via text or phone at 414-322-4761 or email at tmbuchmann@gmail.com with any questions or constructive comments.
Thank you,
Terry Buchmann
FCC Moderator
Can You Help?
Hello dear FCC family,
We have a couple of members who could really use our assistance right now, and we hope you can help.
Bonnie Geiser no longer needs rides to visit Carl since he is home. But.... Please consider calling Bonnie & Carl at (262) 363 - 7519 to offer a visit or see what needs they might have. W309 S8530 Greenview Dr. in Mukwonago.
Also, Karen Thomas could use some small meals as well as some visits. Please, no beans (legumes.) Green beans are fine)! Karen's phone is (941) 249 - 1162. Her address is 825 N. Rochester, Apt. 111 in Mukwonago. This is the apartment building right across from the parsonage. Here is a Google doc to sign up to bring a meal to Karen. Meals for Karen Thomas
If you have difficulty using this form, please call or text Joanne Himebauch at (262) 363 - 8144 or email jhimebau78@gmail.com.
We realize that some of you can't provide visits and meals, but please pick up the phone and call these ladies (and Carl) or send them a card. Let them know that you are thinking about them, praying for them, and offer some emotional support. During this time when we are without a settled pastor, it is important that we all do what we can to help our members through their times of difficulties!
Karen Thomas is looking for a home for her cat Lyla sometime in the future. Please call Karen to discuss a new home for Lyla.

Corporate Prayer
Jesus said "Apart from me you can do nothing" (John 15:5). Quite a strong statement! This must apply both to our individual lives as well as our corporate life as a church. Join us in prayer to see what God will do when we join together on the first and third Wednesday evenings 6:30-7:30 PM in the classroom this month in praying for us as individuals, our families, church, community nation and world.
Wednesday, April 17 Key Prayer Verse: Let us then with confidence draw near to the throne of grace, that we may receive mercy and find grace to help in time of need. (Hebrews 4:16)

From the Funeral Team
We are looking to add volunteers to our funeral team. When the church is asked to provide a meal after a funeral, we prepare food for the gathering. Serving help is also needed. If you can help with a food donation and/or with serving, please contact the Funeral Team lead, Rae-Ellen Preuss.
Her home phone is: 262-594-2740. Thank you for your consideration.

The Food for Families program needs your help. For the last several years, Cindy Wendlandt has been packing the food bags weekly for the 8 Clarendon families that we support with food over the weekends. Since Cindy has started her cancer treatment, she is no longer able to help. She needs to focus on her health and well-being. So we are looking for someone to follow the food schedule posted in the Backpack room and bag up and label the bags of food for our needy families. Can you help? If you feel called to help out, please contact Karen Jones (262) 470 – 7538, djones7@wi.rr.com or Joanne Himebauch (262) 363-8144, jhimebau78@gmail.com
