Rev. Dr. Rick Hartley, D.Min., Pastor
Pastor Rick Hartley came to FCC around Easter of 2006. Originally from California, Rick traveled the country for five years with a drama ministry prior to settling down, getting married, and pursing pastoral ministry. He was ordained in 1993 and before coming to Mukwonago he served churches in Minnesota, Wisconsin, and Montana. Pastor Rick lives with his wife Karla and three children in the parsonage next to the church.
Rick has a passion for the Congregational Way—living in covenant with God’s people. He is excited about all the God is doing in our congregation and hopes we can be a blessing to you.
Rick loves to learn and thus has an ongoing and extensive education. Undergraduate studies were completed at Southwest (MN) State University where he received a Bachelor of Arts in philosophy and speech communication. Rick holds a Master of Divinity with Biblical Languages from New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary, and a Doctor of Ministry degree from George Fox Evangelical Seminary, Portland, OR (read his dissertation here). Currently he is working on a Masters of Sacred Theology in Ascetical Theology at Nashotah House–where he is studying the roots of Puritanism. Pastor Rick also has several distance education degrees: A Doctor of Theology and Master of Biblical Counseling from Andersonville Theological Seminary, and a Licentiate in Theology from Saint Paul Theological College.
Rick would love to have a cup of coffee with you, visit for a while in your home, or talk in his office at the church. He cherishes hearing about people’s journeys and is available for counsel and spiritual direction, or any good conversation. We hope you find our Pastor to be a blessing! Feel free to contact him!
Rev. Fred Thimmel, Associate Pastor
Pastor Fred joined the FCC team in September of 2010. He is an ordained Lay-Minister in the Congregational Tradition. Fred is owner and CEO of Bryant Products, Inc., a company that makes conveyor belt components. Pastor Fred lives with his wife Karen in Hartland, WI, and besides being an avid reader enjoys a wide variety of activities from golf to his grandchildren.
Judi, Office Administrator
Judi has kept the office running for the past years. We all do not know what we would do without her (nor do we intend to try!). She lives in Mukwonago with her husband and younger of her two daughters, while her eldest is off at Graduate School. Judi will be happy to assist you when you call the church office or stop by the church. If you need something from her, chocolate always has a great response!
Marni, Accompanist
Marni is both our organist and choir director. She has been with us since 2003. When not directing the choir or accompanying our worship services she runs her own graphic design business and gives piano lessons. For more information about any of her three jobs, contact her at marni@fccweb.net.
JD Hartley, Webmaster
JD is a self-taught programmer in HTML, CSS, and PHP. He has been coding since the fifth grade. Currently he is a Senior at Mukwonago High School. When not tormenting his little brother or sister, he is busy at work on the computer, working with the Mukwonago B.E.A.R.s Robotics team, or out with his friends.
